"tech" style scooter

Alright so I was not very sure where to post this to tell the truth and general discussion is my best guess

So down to my question

I feel that I can do more "tech" style riding and I was wondering, what type of setup would I want to get, and I know that personal preference is one of the main issues so I know whatever reply I get it can possibly be all personal preference...

weight being either:
- super light (6 pounds and under)
- light (7 - 8 pounds)
- normal/standard (8 - 9 pounds)
-or-
- heavy (10 - 11 pounds)

bar width being either:
- skinny (15 - 16 inches)
- normal/standard (17 - 18 inches)
- wide (19 - 21 inches)
-or-
- super wide (22 - 24 inches)

deck width being either:
- skinny (4 - 4.25 inches)
- normal/standard (4.25 - 4.5 inches)
- wide (4.5 - 4.75 inches)
- super wide (4.75 - 5.25 inches)

and so on... more being things like head tube angle and deck length

so another thing is, if I am still at what some would call "beginner" level, would i want a certain type of setup, like a "light" setup to start out with to get the more responsive feel without needing to work too hard at trying to learn a new trick, so yeah, I am a little confused because I don't know what type of setup I would want to get, so if I can get some help on this it would be greatly appreciated...

Get what YOU want, and what YOU are most comfortable riding. There's people who ride techy with 20 wide and others with 15 wide. It's all opinionated, there is no "tech" setup or anything like this. It's all preference.

it is all personal preferance man, there is no demension that is wrong. try bars that are about your shoulder width, maybe a little larger, thats what the norm is i guess, and tech people usually go for longer decks with square sides, like v2is mostly. weight shouldnt matter unless your a weight winnie, when in that case, it does. if you ride rough ledges i would look into a vert x deck. what is your price range?

setup i would recomend to you (ill try to make it a decent price)
grips: odi longnecks
bars: any bar you think look cool i would suggest t bars first.
clamp: tilt double
headset: cane creek s1
deck:v2i
fork: any fork you like
wheels: scooterzone or protos

it really is personal prefrence this is just a refrence of decent parts. relativly cheap and good for beginners.

i know, that is absolutely true, it is all preference, but i was also kind of wondering also what is a good balanced setup, like a district for example, and yes again, i know it is all preference

I agree completely, that it is all personal preference, and when i said "normal" width for bars, what I did mean was from what I know being the most chosen bar width, a v2i sounds really good, but I keep on wondering about the "long" headtube, that if it actually is too long to fit HIC or SCS without mods, i am not a weight weenie either, i have (believe it or not) rode a 4 POUND fuzion, having aluminum forks and bars with ICS compression, and converted from that to FULL STOCK madd gear nitro, not the new one, the old one with the super bulky neck and that had full size rad crows (HIC, 24x24), and proto senior forks with a full size proto SCS, so I am pretty good on getting used to whatever weight, and I do ride rough ledges, but I want to go with a "boxed" deck, but not like a reventon or anything and my price range, anywhere from 300 to 700 (700 being the most expensive complete I could come up with), I just really want a strong long lasting complete... got any ideas

wait for the new tsi street deck, thats my idea. it is going to be beautiful and indestructible. run chromoly forks, because i dont trust aluminum, so i would go with strikers, baby scs, vert x T's and wheels, tsi street deck, and the rest doesnt matter

the rest matters, you want a non rattly brake and a decent headset + pegs if u like them. also if he's a begginer he dosent need real strong forks

the rest matters (in my opinion anyway), you want a non rattly brake and a decent headset + pegs if u like them. plus as everyone said its preference so your fav setup is not neccecarily his. and if you have a nitro and a fuzion u dont need a whole new setup just yet unless you really hate both of them

well i kind of hate the fuzion and the nitro because the fuzion was back heavy and the nitro was front heavy and i just actually want more of a balanced setup, but since i want a "balanced" setup should i go with an addict deck, because you can modify the weight of those decks

Most people prefer really light scooters for tech, but I ride mostly tech and I ride a TSI Flight with 23x20 bars. More of a flowy setup than it is tech, but it still works fine because I like how it rides.

If you're only a beginner don't really worry about weight. I know people who've started on madd nitro's then gone to rups. Just find yourself and what suits you.

Any grips
HIC T bars
District clamp
Cane creek s1 headset
Smx 0 offset forks
Plastic core wheels
Addict deck

a good all around set up would probably be.

hic T bars 18-20 wide
proto or tilt double clamp
fsa orbit integrated headset
tilt or addict forks
proto sliders
and the envy AOS v2, it's superrrr light and has boxed sides and is on the shorter side wich is good for tech stuff.
