The Classics

This section is long overdue. Only visible for members and only admin can post in it. Whenever you find a thread that you feel should be remembered in SR history for eternity it should be moved there for viewing. If the thread is still active you can wait until it runs it's course before moving.

Your girlfriend thread and that one definitely needs to be there.

It's ok to bump the thread so it is easier to find and move but delete the bump afterwards and lock in the classics section. You cant really keep posting and adding to a classic thread... they just are what they are.

Well... people can bump whatever they want in there then we can decide if it gets the move or not. Also:

i also just made a sticky in there so people can discuss these threads without posting in them

EDIT just realized people can't post in there unless they are mods. is there a way to make it so they can?

Yea, but all the classic threads need to be locked in that case.
Scrap that idea. You can make the same sticky thread into "Discuss Anything" section and leave the classic section untouched, so that members can't post or make new threads.

Because at current stance there WILL be some god damn kids who won't understand the announcement thread with the name "DO NOT MAKE THREADS IN THIS SECTION", because they just can't accept the idea and they will post their classical soon-to-be-failed thread ANYWAY. The best way to avoid that is to leave the section available only for admins/mods, visible for members and unvisible for guests and the reasons are following:
- less work by not locking all classic threads,
- less work by not deleting threads that were started by ignorants,
- less work by not banning those ignorants,
- saves time, energy, nerves and good mood.

That's the only way to that section clean, and you could discuss about
classic threads in the "Discuss Anything" section, if it's THAT necessary.
