The Deaf Thread

yea. I cant hear... well I'm losing my hearing and it started when I was 14, it's genetic, my older sister is profoundly deaf and my father is 99% deaf I have hearing aids but can still hear noise pretty well. My main trouble at the moment is functioning in a conversation, most times I just hear vowels...

the way my loss is progressing I will continue to lose it until I'm completely deaf like my dad.

I don't want pity I'm just curious if there are any other deaf scooter riders or if anyone on here is proficient in ASL, I had a thread like this on TRW so I'm kinda bringing it over

I met a deaf scooter kid at BD Philly once, but I've never seen one on a forum except for you. And I remember this on TRW, as well.

I went to an indoor skatepark, and this same kid kept snaking me, so I asked him what his issue was, and he said that he was pretty much blind. So part of me was feeling guilty, the other half was wondering why he was riding if he could barely see...

But being deaf is a different story.
