I bumped the latest Fall of Troy thread but it didn't get much attention so...

New album by The Fall of Troy. Coming out on October 6. It's gonna be amazing. Rody Walker of Protest the Hero is doing guest vocals. I can't wait for this to come out.

They sent me a email saying that synapse had more reasonable prices for what they do, hell I wouldve done it for free. :( How can I get noticed with all those other designers.

Okay back on topic with the cd:

This is the worst cd yet. I love progressive music. I love change. Fall of troy was not meant to go down this path.

Good songs (and some are pushing it even calling them good):
Dirty Pillow Talk
Nature vs. Nurture
Straight-Jacket Keelhauled
A Classic case of Transference

The rest were just awful. They ruined battleship graveyard. i am just too dissapointed. I grew up on this band pretty much and they have totally missed the boat.

I disagree, if you keep comparing it to there old style, of course your going to think its awful. I personally liked it more then half of the stuff on the last album. Thomas can do some really great stuff vocally when he's not screaming, and I think that's what he's trying to accomplish.

why wouldn't you compare an artists work to his greatest work? I hate how some people are giving sympathy to the band because they are fans. Less breakdowns, less screams, less blood pumping moments...i dont see what there is to like. Oh well.

everyone that praised manipulator and especially the track "caught up" seriously made me laugh. thomas does not have a spectacular voice, and he does not have the voice to carry anything like caught up.

the new cd sounds almost like a watered down version of old afi/coheed. gave it two listens through and i doubt i'll listen to it again.

heard it last night. i was not impressed. it was nothing like what i expected. i hated his vocals on this cd. i don't mind the lack of screaming but his clean vocals just sounded weird. there was only a few decent songs. overall i was disappointed :(

Well, this album isn't that good in comparison to their previous works, it lacks the power, the energy. But still there are some good songs that I would enjoy a really looong time:
- Dirty Pillow Talk
- Nature vs Nurture
- Battleship Graveyard
- Straight-Jacket Keelhauled
- Webs
- Single
- Nobody's perfect

And to be honest, I would have been more disappointed if they would have released another doppelganger. The band needs to progress. But was this album a real progression that TFOT members were able to do? I highly doubt. They could do it better
