So I almost got severely hurt yesterday.

Went for a ride with a few friends down the hills of Santa Cruz. Coming down at around 30-35 and descending.. Next thing I knew, my crankset completely stopped moving. I've never had so much time to react to a near death situation... So I'm basically hauling down this hill with no brakes, and the chain is super loose. I had to footbrake for a few hundred feet.. Luckily I didnt get hurt...

What happened was, the hub got completely stripped. Lockring went loose and so did the back cog.

I was so lucky..

Yeah, luckily, I got to enjoy the rest of my ride.... thanks to my Trixie tool

I was kinda wondering why that picture had the drive side on the wrong side, I figured you had just flipped the picture or something.

I ended up buying a new rear wheel

I got a white Fixed/Fixed iMinusD with a Dura Ace 16t cog and lockring, a gatorskin, a tube and labor, all for 250!! Hooked up at the shop.

Without the connection, it would have cost:

Fixed/fixed iMD: 230
Dura Ace 16t cog and lockring: 45
Conto Gatorskin: 45
Tube: 6
Labor: 30

I saved $156

Ewww, don't get those. Well maybe a Hed 3, but definitely not an Aerospoke, those things are so heavy and terrible.

I need a new front wheel dood... I want something either really deep like a zipp or an odd number of spokes (not the spinnergy uggglllyyyy). Id like some sort of carbon front wheel

Get something radial laced on the front. Just search Craigs, I bet in the Bay you have way more people selling dialed wheels. Or even wheels that are a little less than dialed that you can get trued. And good idea on no Spinerys, those things break.
