The "new" scooter resource.

Scooter resource used to be an easily accessible website. You used to be able to just get on and know every single person that was on and be able to talk amongst the community easily. You used to be able to go to the video gallery and find all of the best videos. Things used to be much more chill.

Over the last year scootering has advanced greatly but at the same time this site has gone downhill. The originals that used to be on all of the time don’t even bother to log in anymore. This is caused by all of the little kids and people that don’t even know what they are doing coming on here and posting pointless threads before looking around and finding the answer to their question. If you go to the scooters section, how many stupid “lucky deck vs. TSI deck” threads there are. If you go to the video gallery it is filled with terribly edited videos of little kids filmed in one day. Whatever happened to working on videos for weeks before releasing them? So that the video gallery is filled with videos worth watching. You can’t even surf this site anymore. It has gotten terrible.

Things really need to change and people need to come to realization that they are not helping the scooter community. Sure things are growing and getting bigger. But what happens when you get to the point where all of the people that started this sport give up on it and all of these new people try and run things?

I mean seriously, this site has gotten so corrupt that people like Brian are trying to start a whole other community, called the ride wire, for people that actually want to be able to get on the internet and see whats going on with the scooter community. Things like Inside Scooters are amazing, because they are runned by people that are actually legit and don’t want to deal with all of the people on scooter resource. We really don’t need a new community, Scooter resource has been around for soo long and everyone knows about it. We just need to change things. People need to grow up and realize that positng their videos everyday isn’t making anyone happy and posting threads before looking around for an answer to their question is really annoying and it just causes arguments that come out with no answer. If people were to just search around and find a thread that has to do with their question and simply post in that thread and wait for a reply things wouldn’t be so difficult around here. But people want the easy route and it is really annoying.

It seems as the moderators have even gave up and they don’t try as hard anymore, that’s how bad this site has gotten.

We really need to start a change before it gets any worse. Does anyone agree with me?

It's the price we have to pay when a sport grows as fast as this one does.

It's only going to get worse regarding little children that don't know/use forum etiquette and/or common sense... and there's nothing any of us can do about it.

Sorry to burst your bubble Brian, but making another forum isn't going to do a thing about this issue. Sure, the forums might seem "legit" now, but I know for a fact that if it keeps growing the way it has been this past week or so, by this time next month it's going to be filled with the same idiots posting the same dumb shit that they do here.

It's inevitable, and the only thing we as a community can do about it is just learn to deal I guess.

What do you suggest we do, exactly?

Also, more mods are on the way.

If someone refuses to search, ban.

hate to sound like a dick.....but that would work. it would get rid of the kids who have no name. im not discouraging people from riding. just sucks that everyone has to come on here. someone should make a forum where you need to be specifically invited to join and have video proof or something so kids dont just come on here wondering what scooter to get and stuff. theres no turning back for SR. it wont ever change.

not saying im the the least mature on here because im certainly not, but there are way too many people who think they are good just because there post count is high. Just because you got 1 thousand posts doesnt mean they are helpful.

Its starting to come onto a quality vs quantity thing. But if everyone on this forum decides to act mature and dont be such douches. This forum will be much more informative and entertaining.

Arguments are healthy, as long as they are clean. It is good to have a debate over parts but once you feel its starting to shape into a personal argument just ignore it and get onto something else.

Just wanted to clear some things up

yeah that would be sick

if only if only...

and mike its quality vs. quantity

either we ban every little kid that posts dumb threads, or let them trash this sport
they are the future, and i must say they are a very dull future. I miss back when
people knew everybody.

Stricter mods. More mods.
Maybe even a thing to when new members sign up, they get sent a thing they HAVE to watch/read explaining the rules and how to use sr.
Sr isnt dead, it can be fixed :).

Okej, so this is what happened.

The scooter community got tooo big to be held on one single place, one single forum...and I welcome this...
It means there are finally enough people in this sport to actually get it somewhere.
Ok, a good chunk of the community are immature kids, that argue and act tough on the internet, they should be warned/banned to get them under control, but on the other hand, you should give everyone a chance without looking ath their post count or age. Mindlessly bashing on people with "Lol, your opinion is invalid, you have only 5 posts" makes you look worse than the kid who has 5 posts.

One one hand I'm annoyed too on all the "this vs. that" threads, on the other hand, I'm glad there are this much companies that we actually can post such threads.

Back in the good ol' days there were no "stupid vs. threads" simply becaouse there wasn't much to talk about.
You got a pro model, you bolted it and you glued the wheels, end of discussion.

Soo all the negative things that started popping out lately are a result of the sport growing and getting a much bigger userbase. Now that it's finally getting split across few boards, there will be less drama.

This was needed a longer time ago, but o well, better late than never. Just take the european community... there is Mx-Scooter, Trottirider, the Czech forum (can't remember the name)...and there is pretty much no drama...
