ah dude, help me with derivative word problems.

"an air traffic controller spots two planes at the same altitude converging on a point as they fly at a right angles to each other. one plane is 150 miles from the point moving at 450 miles per hour. The other plane is 200 miles from the point moving at 600 miles per hour.

at what rate is the distance between the planes decreasing?"

fuck, its 7 in the morning, i dont feel like thinking haha. well you're going to do derive the time variables, so you're going to have to take the derivatives of 450 and 600 at some point, so throw a variable in there and some limits and figure it out.

if you cant figure it out i'll actually try and think about it later, havent done calc word problems in so long.

Is any one good with multi-engine turbo jet systems? They're kicking my ass in my PRAV 426 class. I'm a car and bike mechanic so this kinda bothers me that I'm having any trouble at all.

Woah...where are you going for flying? MPH? Wow, what class is that for? I've never seen that used in aviation. It should be kts/nm.

lol. this had nothing to do with aviation whatsoever. I mean the example did, but its just college calculus that i'm taking in high school. some of the examples involve boats, baloons, and whatever... as long as you can make a triangle out of it haha. i just actually lol'd at the irony in me needing help with that question, and your thoughts after. very, very ironic.
