The point of no more progression.

Ok, People learn tricks. They get better at them, start adding combos, find new spots for things, it is impossible to stop progressing. It truly is. So do not say that we are getting there. Skateboarding hasn't stopped to.

I totally agree, who knows what people will be doing in 50 years. They could make indoor skate parks with like lower gravity in them or something crazy. Not to mention people will always be going bigger, and throwing combos in. Even if we reach a point where there's no new tricks, there will always be more and more combos.

ive thought about it for years. eventually at some point in time there will be a stop in progression. theres only a certain amount of tricks to do, you can combine those tricks to make combos, but still, the amount of combos possible in skating/bmx/scooting etc is a limited number. it is not infinite. therefore at some point in time there are going to be no more new combos physically possible to do. maybe if gravity changes haha. the only thing that can progress is the obstacles things are done on. but even that will one day hit the limit.

its the same with movies and music. its going to get harder and harder to be creative. how many new story lines can there be in a movie before they all start getting similar? how many new songs can come out that sound original and unheard of?

While we're on that metaphor.
New genre's are created, and have been created for 1000's of years.
I can see a few new styles becoming popular, but thats it really. Once the tricks start to dry up, people will try to invent their own style, then a whole new aspect would open up.
It is kinda unlikely, and it could only really happen once or twice.
But that would kinda help progression if we slow down.

The thing i'm annoyed about with scooters is the lack of all around riders..
There are little to no riders who mix styles, i've never seen someone go huge on park, then do some crazy handrail, then destroyed a manny pad.
I'd really love to see it.

Kids saying skatings done progressing= no way.

Am i really the only person thats gonna bring up riding switch and opposite tricks? Barely any one does these and it happens only like 3 times in a vid when people do. Everyone seriously needs to start doing these because its gonna open up huge possibilities in riding

not directing this at danny, but you people on about how we need desperately to get progression. Stop worrying and whining about it. It will happen on its own, so at the moment go out and enjoy riding, instead of shiiting yourself over a slight lack of progression. Who gives a crap.If scootering turns into a progression contest like skating has ( You never see different skater groups getting along) we're all gonna be fooked then.

Just go out and ride...

Don't you guys understand? Lets put it this way. Before i started scooters, Late 2007.. I even thought a simple tailwhip was impossible, Right now things MAY seem impossible, But that will change. Scootering has only just started as an extreme sport, Give it time and more tricks/combos/obsticles/switch/fakie Will be done. Stop worrying and start trying.

Just add some freestyle or parkour into your tricks. You'll find a lot more opportunities for stuff.

Cause eventually kids are gonna man up and start really pushing riding.
yeah great point there. cause john radtke, coedie, and matt really arent pushing riding. great idea. ill be sure to let them know they should start progressing.

when i said kids i meant kids. not people who are already riding today doing crazy stuff. like ajs lil bro. hes 11 and is already maddd good. i cant wait to see what he'll be throwing down when hes my age.

so yeah, i dont know if anyone mentioned it. but vert, look how crazy (omg he is about to say it) x games skating/inline/bmx is in those huge vert pipes? we haven't even begun to air them properly. I think once one person gets good at that, it will open up a whole new thing for scooters. just like mckeen has been doing fo the street aspect of it.

No, progression can't stop. If someone lands a double tailwhip backflip then they try a triple tailwhip backflip. People just keep progressing, it can never stop.
he means the sport, i feel that scooter riding hasnt stopped, but its hit a speed bump

skating- yes
biking-minor speed bump? idk i dont watch alot of biking
scooter riding- minor speed bump
you think scootering has hit a speed bump? its progressing exponentially dude.

i think our sport might be slowing down soon though. with new, heavier parts, tricks are going to be a lot harder than they were before with stock parts.

but we will always be progressing. you can always do it higher, faster, longer, lower. there is still a TON of room for progression in this sport though, and we will never stop progressing.
thats what i mean by speed bump, its seems to be slowed down

but im sure that will change in like a month with all the companies sparking up and new videos that will come out

Will it ever be reached? I mean, will there ever be a point where there aren't any more huge tricks done that haven't been done before. I look at BMX and I think it has to happen soon. Kids in houston are throwing frontflip whips over spines and I just don't see how much crazier shit can get. The same can also be said for scootering although I still see progression coming big time.

In your opinion, will skateboarding, bmx, or scooters ever hit this point?

whattttt!? Ive never even heard of anybody frontflipping a spine. thats so rad.

scotty cranmer, daniel dhers, and one new guy just recently have frontflipped spines. Only scotty and anthony napolitan have front whipped. I don't think anyone's done one over a spine yet
