looks good im guessing you just screw your bars onto your fork to tighten or loosen? and how does the bolt stay there? i know you said there was a starnut in your fork but how did it get there?
i putt the bolt in there and tightned it so it wouldnt come loose. the bolt was a little oversize as well. then, i turned it upside down and put it in the fork. after that, i took a snapped piece of fork tubing and put another standard starnut into it. then i put that piece of fork into my bars and made sure it was secure. finally, i screwed my bars into the bolt sticking out at the top and tightened my clamp.

was it hard to get it like perfect so that when you tighten it, your bars/alignment would be straight without the headset being loose? i just also had this same sort of idea and these were problems i was having getting it to work.

There's a lot to this sound sounds pretty sketch, like the broken fork tube idea. And if you tighten the bars down (which will be annoying to do everytime you want your bars off) and the headset is good but the bars and fork aren't aligned, you're basically screwed.
