The Rule of Chode

Like I said in my post, it's not just because it looks dumb, it's because you don't need your bars that wide if you're that short.

haha that cant be a rule thats stupid there paying for the bars they should get what they want right? you ride wide bars they may not be as wide as they are tall but who cares if it pisses you off that much than dont look in the "your scooter thread"

How does some1 else in like a dif states riding a setup that you do not like affect your riding in any which way possible, just let it be and ride what you like. It's like a little kid buying a element setup and riding loose loose trucks and they can't ollie =] stuff like this is gunna happen, let it be.

im 19 high 18 wide

but seriously its how u feel comfortable, some people feel good with short bars, some feel good with long bars, now matter how tall/short but then again i ride at the start of the grips

pepole who have come from riding bmx might like wider bars becasue they are used to running 25 inch plus bars so running 16 or 17 's would just feel bad to them short bmx riders used tot hat would run low bars but al;so wide coz its wat they are used to and comfortable with so who gives a ----

Why post this?
Why cause all this shit, everyone will ride what they think is comfortable for them, or what expresses their ability, for example, if they think wider bars are easier to do barspins with, then why dis that?
i ride 13 high 16 wide, yeah, my point may be biased, but i don't care, im sure i speak for alot of people, when i say just ride your scooter, don't mess yourself up when you think of 20 wides, and don't have a breakdown when you see someone's bars are wider than they are tall. Why is this relevant to anyone?
it's actually a rather pointless thread.

I think Alex is trying to say he isn't going to stop you from doing it, he just wants you to think about how much sense it really makes. I'm 13, looking when I put my arms out, my hands are about 1 1/2' wide. 18"s at most. I'm about 5'. I like my bars at my belly button. Lets assume that is halfway up my body. 2.5' or 30" (which you take off the wheel height and headset so its really like 23") If you do whats comfortable you shouldn't be close. If your short enough to be riding 16"s and you have 20" you either want to be trendy or your shoulders are really wide. You can't be that developed if you're on 16"s. And on another note, I think wide bars can screw up your tricks some what. At least on my bike (I compare scooters to bike a lot because I haven't been able to scoot since june) I was learning turndowns and every time I could get the whip out it was uncomfortable and hard to turn my bars down beacuse I kind of had to get my body around them. My bars aren't that wide either. I guess I'm agreeing with Alex on the bar height > width issue, but disagree with whoever said width doesn't affect tricks.

can you even do these tricks with your wide bars Lewis??:

x-up ---yeah
barspin---yeah
tailwhip---yeah
double tailwhip---yeah
fingerwhip---nearly
truckdriver---nearly
360 whip---nearly
or even frontscooterflip----no
or briflip???---no

if you cant do half of these... you do not have enough experience or your bars are way to wide and not tall enough!!!
so, in order to have my bars wide, must i be good?

Im down with the rule for sure. I mean ya, if your that short that your bars are lower than wide i dont think you shouild be riding them. Its not that i can stop you i just think you should think about it from a logical standpoint. I mean if you 5' tall and you ride your bars 16 high is their really any need for 20 wide or w/e... not really. All i am trying to say is that i cant stop you from riding what you like but i can tell you that it doesnt m,ake sense. Its up to you to choose but im with alex
