The "Secrets" to Windows Movie Maker

Well most good editors know that if you want to make a good video, wmm is not the way to go. but if you really dont feel like spending a lot of money on a better program, many people stick to movie maker. As for me, I know the basics, but many people say it really isnt that bad if you "know the secrets".
I dont know the secrets, and if there is anyone willing to explain them, it would be much appreciated.

^^^^ haha no. you have no idea what a good editing program is until you use one.

as for the secrets. idk any secrets to WMM. but i do know that its the editor that makes a good video, not the editing program.

good filming helps me edit better. i hate when the clips are really short too (like when they are started right before the trick starts ad right after the trick is landed)

another thing that helps is watching videos that are well edited.

also, try to be creative. if it doesnt work out right then just hit undo.

another thing that helps me is listening to the song im gonna use over and over again. i plan stuff out in my head.

what tends to help alot is to not start editing until you have all the clips you need filmed.

pick a song that matches the riders style. then try to edit to the song as best as you can

well i hope that helped you a bit

the listen to the song over and over thing is exactly what i do :)

but wmm is a light program that has basics for throwing clips together.
the only problem is the slo-mo

Oh god.
There are hundreds of secrets.
I learnt how to do ramped slowmo in movie maker..
You can download extra effects/transitions to help alot.
Like Slow/fast zooms in and out.
Slower/faster slow-mos and Speed ups.
If i had it all, i'd throw it in a folder and put it up for download.
But i used to have almost 20 slow-downs in 6% increments..
So i could slow down by 16%, rather than half.. I'll try get it running again :)

thats sick. i used to use WMM and all that happened to me too. shuts off, slow-mos the whole clip even though you want a portion of it, freezing. i moved on hahah. i use Ulead Video Studio 9. pretty good. well i like it haha. but i could edit videos pretty nicely on WMM. i use it for like SCOOT clips now ha

haha.
Here's a quick example of advanced(ISH!) editing on wmm.

Keep an eye out for quicker slow-mo, and the two fakie tricks are increased brightness/contrast.
Also, as it says in description, i don't really have a video camera, the clips are letterboxed :)
