the universe

ITS FUCKING HUGE.

copypastad since this just blew my mind.

Right now, on your computer screen, are approximately 10,000 galaxies.

Each of those galaxies contains anywhere from ten million to one trillion stars.

The average star is roughly a million times the size of Earth.

And yet, with all that junk, the Universe is more than 90 percent empty space.

All of that, in this tiny photo. A photo that took 400 orbits and 800 exposures to take.

And the kicker? The photo covers one thirteen-millionth of the entire night sky.

Damn that's intense. It boggles my mind to think about how insignifigant we are in the universe and how everything we know and love is on one of possibly trillions of planets.

i lol at people who don't think there are other life forms out there.

ditto. we're in a giant snow globe, or some kids science experiment lol

shits intense.

yeah, it's quite intense, especially when you get into all that shit in depth in astrophysics if you ever decide to take physics in school. And yeah, we are definitely very insignificant in this universe haha

Thats really fascinating. Yeah, makes you wonder how people dont think other life exists. I mean, nothing else out there AT ALL?

i heard that it takes 250 million trillion light years to get to the edge of space.

i read that in a science book at school lol

that's only if you believe that there is an edge to space

and not trying to be the token religious guy haha but if you believe in God, in the Bible it says that He created as many planets as there are grains of sand on the beach

obviously a figure of speech, mainly just trying to say that there is an insane amount of planets and I'm pretty sure the Bible also says that there are other walks of life not on this planet.

that would be cool....the snow globe part cause like we have snow globes on earth so those are ultra mini globes

Ahh yes but he would have told us in the bible if we werent alone, eh?
But yeah the universe is huge, makes me feel really small haha

If the big bang created the matter to create human life from micro-organisms, who is to say that micro-organisms haven't evolved in other parts of the universe??
Like we have all the elements need to live here on earth, they must be somewhere else as well..

actually no, i'm pretty sure the bible says there are not other life forms besides humans and other animals on earth.

wouldn't that suck, to like be up there in a space suit and your literally in space, and your tether breaks? you just float off, forever, eventually getting caught in the orbit of a star where you vaporize instantly. lolz
