They were at the pet store in the mall, there was blood all over and I asked around and I found out a girl broke up with her boyfriend and he shot himself in the head, in the middle of the pet store, in front of little kids, over a fucking girl. I don't understand what is so wrong with people now, I could never imagine even harming myself, and I know kids in FUCKING NINTH GRADE WHO HAVE BEEN IN THE HOSPITAL MULTIPLE TIMES BECAUSE OF TRYING TO KILL THEMSELVES, this upsets me so much. I really don't understand how someone can possibly harm, or even take away their ONLY life, when there is so much to be happy about and grateful for. Your girlfriend breaks up with you? Yeah it sucks, but at least you fucking have a roof over your head and a decent meal for dinner, when there's thousands of kids who will eat dirt tonight for dinner and not wake up in the morning. I don't understand what's happening to our society, when i don't know a single person my age who doesn't drink or do drugs, when I know multiple people who cut themselves, it's absolutely mind blowing and it kills me.
There's a word for this as well.
'Glorification'
Basically, you're making what you're doing seem right to all around, and with current day media, they story hits the tv within 30 minutes of it being shot.
The world is based on the media, and if people think that killing yourself is right because they saw it on a tv, they'll do it themselves, and it automatically becomes acceptable in society.
Drinking + Drugs is just because of the young exposure to the substances..
People in my dads day didn't even hear of marijuana til they were 16 or so unless their parents were into it..
These days 10 and 11 year olds have not only heard of it, but around 3% have even smoked it!
