i agree, and i think the main menu buttons should still be at the top of the page

Edit - another thing, the page gets mega stretched with pics because the forums thinner now ahah.

There are going to be some mixed feelings from everyone.

Can there be a choice button for themes on profile settings? Because i personally prefer if there wasn't any chatbox on the left nor the random poll stuff on the right either when browsing the community.

Plus, not all people have wide screens like you Brian. I'm pretty sure that like half of the people have still like 1024x768 screens which will strech the page out to the right and makes the overall browsing really uncomfortable. So if you can find a way to make the diffirent themes as a choice on profile settings, that would be the best.

can you make it so the individual can pick the theme?
I looked around for that but i can't find any option for that. I wish there was, because then there wouldn't be a big shit about switching the theme. I'm gonna have to check more. I could have swore when i had the TPC site running on E107 you could switch the theme but i might be wrong.

Since you're the head admin and i don't have access to the maintainence and foundation stuff on admin panels, i'm pretty sure you can find find the option on admin panel where it says something like "Allow users to switch/select templates" or something, because the skin-selector should be built in, because when i was searching the plug-in for it, i found this:

Themes

A CMS system works on PHP. Because of this, instead of containing the template file inside of itself, it can rely on a .css file. A .css file in a common style sheet used in most languages (No in HTML). This .css file points out how images are layed out, how wide borders are, were bodies of texts are located, etc. Because it relys on a separate file, the user can select a skin. The site can switch the .css file that it is being pointed at, and in result it will change the theme.
Source: http://wiki.e107.org/?title=CMS

This is why i think the skin-selector is already built-in, but just deactivated for all users.

edit:

the "Who is Online" pages and plugins don't work. Does it have anything to do with the new skin being applied?

Theres some way to enable it, but i don't think i can do it without FTP access... and if i need FTP access hopefully Andrew will be able to help out with it. I can't find any options in the admin area to enable user theme changes. But i was googleing around and it deff. is possible. I was reading something about updating a file and the option will be there to enable, thats why i need FTP access or Andrew to update it for me. I would try to get it togeather tonight but im a little buzzed and don't feel like messing around anymore.

Ok i found it... you have to enable a menu for it, and i did it and Behlau said it was working cause i had him check.

Now, i need Andrews help here. If you read this Andrew, DELETE ALL THE THEMES IN THE THEME DIRECTORY FOR ME! Don't delete the phpBB one though, but you should know that. I can't access the folder from the file manager in the admin panel i don't think, and you can't delete themes from the theme manager for some reason (unless i didn't see it).

I'm gonna go around and find decent themes that are graphic lite, preferably lighter than this theme so there aren't any bandwidth issues. Hopefully Andrew is down for this.

I actually don't even have FTP access right now but I'll get access for both of us Brian and you can do whatever you want theme wise. Just back EVERYTHING up and don't break anything.

Also, I tried looking for a plugin or hack to make it so new members are not allowed to post for 30 days after registration to avoid the "noob" flooding. This kind of relates more to the other thread but if you stumble across some mod like that let me know.
