This sport as a whole.

I love talking about this sport, but it seems like a pretty pointless exercise on most forums due to how horribly simplistic / narrow minded people in the sport are.

Anyone got something they love about the sport, something they wish would change, what's horrible, what's good? Whatever. Just want to see some mature discussion about it.

if you came in here to talk as grown ups, then act like one and stop being immature about me posting, i contributed to the thread, and i didnt start shit. so you have no reason to be complaining.

I hope it stops growing, I liked it back when barely anybody cared about it. The only advantage of it getting bigger is the availability of parts and the increase in quality of engineering.

You didn't contribute, you said 'less street elitists'
Right now, street riders are the minority. There is literally 100 or less dedicated street riders in the world, and you want there to be LESS? It doesn't make sense.

Even I can see the use of people like dakota in the sport, you on the other hand are against the smallest group in the sport growing.

Thank you my god, everyone seems to think street riders talk shit etc but honestly we don't, and if kids do they don't even ride real street and just act like they do, I think you should ride what you want to ride I have nothing against park.
On topic, scootering saved my life, I had intense depression 8-11th grade and I had to see therapists and take medication and still do but there for awhile I wanted to kill myself multiple times and I grabbed my old razor pro which I used to do whips on in like 6th grade and it was fun and then I started spending more time riding and outside rather than inside pitying myself and I grabbed the bull by the horns and said fuck you life come at me you can't bring me down, sounds stupid but it's true. I still take a bit of antidepressants to this day but I can say with ALL of my heart that scootering saved my life. And now I'm part of a great company and team manager and I never thought I could go this far or actually love life again.

"something they wish would change, what's horrible, "
i didnt contribute? its my opinion, i just dont like how streets taking over and park riders get so much shit now. like jordan jasa, alex steadman, lucky/proto/tilt teams etc. like if they were like friendly and just rode, id love them, but by some of the stuff they have said it just makes me lose so much respect for them. i wasnt talking shit or trying to start anything, i was just posting what i was supposed to, i should've gave my reasons in the first post. there are far more than 100 dedicated street riders, like everyone in france, alot of people not in california or nj, people in chicago, friendly, tilt/lucky/proto teams, lots of unknowns. i just want people to stop talking so down on park, when thats more then likely what got them into the sport. thats why i said street elitests, because theyre trying to make people stop riding park and ride and dress how they want, like dylan kasson.

There's a difference between respecting the need for niche groups, and wanting to get rid of them.
A rather large difference in fact.
Street elitists exist for a very good reason. It's because they care about the sport and what it's turning into. It's an embarrassment to the sport to see some of the adults / pros that are coming through these days. They act incredibly immaturely and generally go about their business in a childish manner. It's these people that are shaping the sport. Kids look up to them and copy their behaviour, because they're rolemodels, like it or not.
Street elitists are the people against THAT. Not the way you dress. Not the tricks you do. Not the terrain you ride. Cause quite frankly, we couldn't care less. If you want to look like a clown, go for it, just don't associate with us.

i want to see more street riders, and more simple tricks being thrown down with ease. just so much more relaxing to watch. i also want to see people traveling farther for spots, not just riding there local ones, which is okay. I think this sport needs more veterans and less sponsor hungry people. don't know if thats a lot to want but we would just be so much more respected as a whole if we had more people putting out street full lengths and montages. This sport just needs more maturity and more elegance. kind of ranting there but just thinking out loud.

This. It annoys me when people try so hard to get sponsored.

I hate how the little kids in this sport are sucking the fucking money out of it by buying mass produced parts from gay companies which is causing legit companies like TSI and Proto to struggle in staying open.
