threading machine at lowes

i was a lowes today and you can thread so stuff for free


if you got a threadless fork and got it threaded would that mess it up????????

ya, but you could reinforce it with an old or broken t-tube. also, if you do it, make sure the threads fit the locknuts or you woul be f...ed

people usually don't do that, otherwise they would just buy a threaded fork in the first place

Do it, just make sure it's 26 TPI (i think 26, right?)

I think thats a pipe threder at Lowes, if you want it the right thred you need to go to a bike shop, but its hard to cut threds on Chrom Moly steel, there are good compresion systems available from SR RAD VNC
