alrite so i hav the Cane Creek S-3 Headset and when i go to tighten the headset it is extremley hard to spin. but when i lossen it literally an 1/8 of a turn the clamp spins and the forks stay in place. the nut has locktight or watever its called nowadays so am i just not tightening it enough? and do i just have to let it sit for a day cuz i searched and thats the best answer i culd find.

Tighten it just enough so yours forks dont move.

It could be very touchy, but once you get it right, then you tighten the look nut down, and you will be sweet.

Umm. You need to get 2 thin shifting spanners, get the normal nut into posiition and then hold the normal nut while tightening the lock nut down onto the normal nut.

yee the proto SCS knuckle

so i kno the bolt on top of the headset needs to b snug but not too tight. is the lock nut something else? cuz wenever i hear ppl describe how to tighten it to me it sounds like they are 2 different things. i hav horrible luck with headsets cuz this happens everytime and i just deal wit tightening it but this time its wayyy worse

ok well what i did was take a small 2/4 and take ur bars off.an hammer th 2/4 on the scs so pound it on more then tighten the starnut put your bars back on and tighten it own try that that worke for me

You need to clamp your SCS down harder, I think.
The starnut is only for tightening the headset, NOT for keeping things together!
