Yea that's what scooterzone did with my bars when they cut a slit. Make sure its welded though, don't just stick a fork tube in there.

It doesn't need to be welded? Just jam the forktube right into the bars and it should work fine.

or maybe im thinking of making regular bars oversized, it happened awhile ago haha
