Okay, well this is a message taken from Zero Gravity NW's website, written by their owner. I didn't write this, but thought it would be helpful for people trying to get a sponno to get them on the right path. Enjoy!

This is a post on ways to help riders to get that sponsorship they so desire.
More often than not, I get emails from scooter riders saying “I was just curious if you are sponsoring and if so will you sponsor me. If you are interested email me back and I will send a video” That’s it! No name, no info on where they live, their age, nothing that tells of who they are. I also get emails that say “SPONSOR ME” with a video link. NOPE! Delete! That’s usually my response to those.
Think about it, you are basically asking a company to hire you. When doing so you need to give them a reason to what to do so. You wouldn’t send an email for a job opening at Boeing saying “Hire me” and link a video of you working with tools would you? No, you send them a resume with a bunch of info about you. Your working history, how much experience you have, and your goals for the company, how the company would benefit by having you as a representative for them and so on….
The same goes for when sending a sponsorship request. Send a resume, if you don’t know what one is, Google it! Put some effort into it. Make it stand out so it’s remembered over the 100’s of others that came in that week. Research the company you are looking to get sponsored by. See what type of riders they currently have. Find out if they have a character standard for their riders. If they do, don’t send a video with a song that has bunch swearing or foul behavior in it. Most likely that’s not the type of rider they are looking for.
For example, Zero Gravity is a Christian based team. So many times I get emails from rider saying how they love what we are all about and how they go church and all that stuff. But their Facebook or Myspace pages say otherwise. Don’t say one thing and live the other! I would rather someone say “You know I am not sure about the church side of Zero Gravity, but I am sure about the parts and know the company would benefit by having me as a rider. So I would really like a shot at being on the team” We companies want to know that the potential riders have done their homework and that they are really for the company and not just the parts. We want to know that a potential rider is going to rep the company in a manner that is beneficial to us.
Give them some information about yourself. And always send a recent video of yourself, a video that has some variety in it. Make a video that has all of the tricks you can do. Don’t send a video that has you doing the same trick over and over. Put some time into your resume and video. Make it good and worth our time to watch! We scooter companies are very busy and if it doesn’t catch our attention, they usually go into our trash can!
