try them off of ledges or stairs, they are so much easier. and when i do them off of things i like to throw the bars at the beginning of the 360, but on flat i throw the bars right when im about to land

Carve more

This only works for some people. For me, carving just threw off my spin, so I'd end up really off balance. I only started learning trucks and 3 whips recently because I stopped trying to carve so much and started just doing the 3s like I normally would, except hucking a bit harder.

I'm just talking on flat ground. Like, I don't do 3s that way, why would I try to change the way I 3 just to throw a bar/whip in? Doesn't make sense to me to do it that way, I'd rather just learn it how I'm already comfortable doing it.

Seriously get your barspins fucking down. I just learned this trick today (so stoked on it, btw) and the trick seemed to be in the speed and accuracy of the barspin with a the bodyspin taking a backseat.

Get 180 bar catches smooth as ----- like be able to 180 bar anything and half cab bars.

Edit - half cab bars actually feel more like trucks, cause I do the bar around 270, but I suppose it depends on you.

Throw yourself into the 360 harder then you would normally so you don't need to focus on the spin, you'll just come around normally. Then you can just throw the bar and chill out

trucks are my favorite trick, i find that its better the throw the bar early but be careful not to try and bar so early that its almost like you bar then spin, i drove my self crazy doing that when i learned them
