http://expn.go.com/expn/blog/bmx scroll down just a bit.

another reason why the dew tour owns the x-games. this is probably mostly danny way's fault, making the mega ramp has resulted in the x-games turning into a daredevil show instead of a showcase of the best action sports athletes. this isn't "progression", its the espn execs pulling a razor usa-esque stunt, doing all the bad things they could to get more money.

at least theres gonna be a bmx street comp, that should be interesting.

thats because no bikers ride verty anymore. well, not many. its sad, vert takes so much skill in my opinion. oh well maybe super park will be super!

Vert = Mad flow and smoothness. Super park is supposed to be like a gnarly concrete park made out of skatelight. That is what they said in an interveiw. Should be sick, but still vert being out dissapoints me. Dirt was a huge upset to me, especially since I just started getting into it. Remember, it is by EXPN, a division of ESPN, who are in it for money, not progression, no matter what they say.

Dirt was pretty rad, but it was basically a few box jumps in a row. Well some of the newer courses had a bit more to offer, but still. I wanna see what this superpark is.

ive gotta say watching vert in real life is amazing but it gets so boring to watch on tv...
it must really sucks for those people who have ridden vert and gotten really good and now they take away vert from the x games

Since the X-games is all that matters.

Yeah, the Dew Tour is big. The only way to win though is by jumping into a foam pit enough times. You'll eventually find the cup. Dew is seriously just a best trick contest.

I own SR.
I heard about this the other day and all I have to say is that it is fucking bullshit and the "X-Games" is a commercial joke. The X-Games would not exist without vert. They have officially gotten rid of everything worthwhile. Street and park are both cool disciplines but not cool enough to replace the original discipline.

X games are the same thing for the action sports as TNA Wrestling for martial arts.

Seriously, it's not a competition anymore, it's a show for the masses and personally I don't see anything wrong with it. If someone from the public enjoys that show, he might eventually get interested in action sports and start watching competitions, videos etc.
It's understandable that they ditched vert, as there was literally hardly any to no progress in vert skating, and little progress in bmx vert, not to mention the lack of new vert riders of any kind (Zack Warden is the only progressive vert rider I can think of). You get to see the same people over and over and Bestwick always wins anyway. It's funny how the X games tried to 'save' vert by making an amateur vert skating comp last year. As probably hardly anyone remembers it, it was a failure and so the vert was 'dead'. I guess that bmx street and park comps reflect what people really ride better than park and vert anyway.

Everyone should just stop caring about what the x games management decides, it's not the 'big thing' we should go crazy about. However it might be interesting how they look for 'new crazy stuff' which may make them find a new great sport which is a crossover over bmx and skating, and that would be scootering.

After reading what Pete said, I guess I'm sort of okay with vert gone, I just feel bad that all that style and smoothness is going t go to waste possibly. Dirt I'm still POed about. Dirt was some of the best stuff to watch and is the best to ride in my opinion.
