VertX Smx fork diameter to big?

It is? I never had this problem ever. Maybe try sanding down the fork??
Vertx fork tubes are definitely a tiny bit bigger than every other i have ever had...its a real bitch to get my proto scs off..
I would recomend sanding dow the inside of your scs until it fits...id try to stay away from sanding down the fork tube though as it could weaken it and give it a place to crack/break.
For sanding down the i.d. of the scs a 1 "flap disc" sanding drum on a drill works nice.

i have the same problem with my proto strikers, just hammer your hic shim on, sand the shim down a wee bit, then hammer on your bars, good news, that shit never comes loose, bad news, that shit never comes loose... or off.
