Video quality help

Hello, I have a 1080p camera and the quality is great, but when I edit it on final cut pro and put it on youtube it's only 480p unless its a raw file with no editing. How do I make my videos that are edited at least 720p?

you need to change your render settings.. i'm not sure how, though. i've never used fcp.

No actually, I can use what I want too. I can do alot of things on it, but I never figured out how to render the quality settings.
