I can get either, but if i get the vx200, I won't be able to get a death lense.
Are VX200's that much better?

vx2000s have the worst audio of the bunch.
but then vx1ks are old and have problems and you gotta send em to kerry alot.
if you have the money, go for the vx1k.

^^ FUCK YOUR ----- but yea you will be eble to get a death lens, you can run any lens you can on a vx1 on a vx2, you just have to buy a bayo or if your a puss puss a step up ring. ive owned a vx1 and use a vx2 regularly. vx2's are wayyyyy better for night and stuff, but the footage looks a little different. its preference, i would go with the vx2.

VX2000 definately. Audio is not that bad. It much better than most shit on the market and it is close ot the VX1000. VX2000 has great lowlight, takes hit better than the vx1000 and looks good with fisheyes that are other than the mk1 death lens. Really it is worth it. LCD screen is useful at times aswell and that the button for recording is on the handle. Overall if you don't mind like another half of a pound then you're golden with the vx2000. It has natural colours but can look like a vx1000 if you want to.

Really the vx1000 is almost dead. They are getting slowly destroyed. If Video Electronics wasn't here they wouldn't exist. VX2100s are sold new and VX2000 aren't far behind. If you want a good camera, not an investment, go with the VX2000.

eh my vx1 broke and its gonna be a worthless camera in about 6 months. best bet is a trv900 lol. believe it or not it produces similar colors to a vx1, can achieve decent audio manually, pretty reliable, wide as a mofo with a baby death and CHEAP. my friend has a vx2 and its ok except for the fisheye options, mk1 bayos for it are almost extinct, optekas blow and so do raymods and there about as reliable as a trv. btw im mainly a filmer so i know what im saying, just cause it doesnt have a handle doesnt mean its bad.

VX1 Footy, Both uncompressed .avi files color boosted a little too much.

As you can see the trv looks better than the vx1 aha. Oh and in this video you can tell the difference between vx1 and vx2 footy, the vx2 has a more contrasty look.

audio is better on vx1 than vx2, but if its really that important to you get a mic. also keep in mind the vx1 is gonna be atleast 15 yrs old lol, that means no lcd screen, and may break easier

yeah seriously as long as theres a decent fisheye on all you need to do is know how to get close to the tricks and you don't need to worry about an lcd. and when your filming longlens the viewfinder is the way to go. i find lcd longlens really hard to film
