WARNING DO NOT RUN YOUR PROTOS IN THE BACK BEFORE WEARING IT IN!!!

No company should be selling a product that isn't ready to be ridden. I understand running a wheel in the front is needed. But selling a product that is still 'drying' is not right.

Here comes the flaming

so we aren't supposed to ride them until mid January? Or can we just in the front and go easy on them?

And if we do, could anything else happen than dehubbing? Like wearing down fast or something?

i agree with donald duck up there.

I understand wanting to get them out for Xmas to make the most profit. but really, if they aren't ready to be used why put them out.

And for the creater of this thread, stupid, stupid, stupid move on your part not wearing it in.

Donald, I'm sure you saw the Proto thread where hella kids were bitching and moaning about how long the wheels were gonna take to ship, what do you think they woulda done if Andrew said "I have all the wheels, but I'm not selling/shipping any for another month and a half". Things would not have gone well.

Naw, I understand. I just hope I don't see a bunch of threads in the next couple weeks saying that they are de-hubbing. On top of that, it seems like the bearing seats are just a bit small. I don't want it to ruin it for him in the future. Ahh.. it's not for me to worry about

to solve the problem
he didnt have to say anything
people would have waited and would have had the best wheels
but now comeon
who actually WANTS to wait to ride these ?

idiot move imo

this is a bit off topic but if I bought an eagle sport metal core 100mm should I still ride it on the front to break it in a bit? or will it be fine?

I own SR.
The wheels are rideable the day they are made. Twan, me and BK all rode ours a week after they were made and they performed fine BUT the longer you wait and/or the easier you ride them for the first few weeks the longer they will last you in the long run. I'm not going to make a thousand wheels and keep them in storage for a year until they are nice and ripe or I would go broke so get over it. ALL WHEELS HAVE TO BE BROKEN IN.

If you rush it they will either break or only last you a few months where as if you are patient and break them in properly you can have a wheel that could potentially last you a couple years.

Like everyone is saying you should ride one in the front for a few weeks then rotate it to the back and put the second one in the front and ride it for a few weeks before you really start abusing them and that is standard for ALL wheels, these are no exception. Patience will pay off and if you rush it you will be bummed.

I would still want them

i rode another prototype in back and deathstarred pretty bad a few times, nothing happened, and it runs perfect.

i didnt even have to break it in by riding it in the front, it was fine.

waiting for reviews is everything.

haha. if they were sooo good like everyone is saying they are then why do they dehub when u ride them in the back without wearing them in? i used to have a 110mm micro metal core and i never wore it in and it was fine. i think the sr metal cores are not as good as everyones been saying because if they were good, they wouldn't dehub that fast.
wow you guys are retards. Imagine that the wheels are pies. right after they come out of the oven they are still not ready to eat. because theyre too hot. the wheels urethane (the black part idiots) arent ready to ride yet. because they just came out of the "oven"
