Welding Foldy

Well my dad said he can come up with a better solution than locking the foldy with bolts, he went around town to visit some welding places and they said they could weld me and my cousins folding mech for $60. My Dad said hes happy to pay that. I'll show you some pics of where the welds are going to be. I used some random pictures of the 'YOUR SCOOTER' thread, sorry if you didnt want me to use your pictures. green lines are the welds.

We will take all the bolts, lever and crap out and all the guts out of the headtube, and the only bolt we'll leave in is the very bottom one.

We'll do those welds on both sides, and also slightly higher up. So what are your thoughts on this?

ok soz man i just thought u thought u were the first well yeh soz and thats alot for welding but hey if your dads paying go for it.

i dont know whats better haha(sarcasm)

your better off just bolting your foldy. its cheaper and you can always reajust your headtube angle if you wanted too

my fucking god dude 2 foldys welded for that much, you are an idiot i got mine done for less than 10 or something. Plus keep the bolts in there otherwise the welds will crack in no time.

I welded my foldy after cracking it, ask for it to be "spot" welded. And i've only had my pro welded for 2 months now? and it has started cracking.

My dad just said hes going to buy some bolts for it tomorrow, but hes still convinced bolting the foldy is a bad idea, i've been trying to tell him but.... he wont listen.

Yeah i thought of that, but my dads just gonna buy the bolts tomoz if it works all good then we wont bother with welding. oh and tommo i'm actually ordering seasoned bars soon, my grandmas putting money into my dads bank account soon and as soon as that happens i'm ordering them.

EDIT: my dad has just ordered two 18" wide by 20" high seasoned bars in black and light green for my cousin and I, and hes ordered a pack of 8 GM's of ebay and.... a pack of 8 bones reds bearings, and I didnt even have to pay a cent. I'm so happy.

bolts are stronger and cheaper. if ur dad dosn't know that then he should go back to school. besides welds eventualy brake. if u really think bolts wont do the job then get high tensile bolts. they are 10 times stronger than the normal mild steel ones.

DO NOT DO IT, it breaks sooo much faster, and you guys will be like "uughg i am gay get it done by a professional" FALSE, my friend did it, got it done by a pro, it breaks sooo much faster, just don't do it

Do it, and i will cut your wrists, vertically.

dont do it, 60 is too much to pay, its not adjustable/removable and it breaks faster than bolts. if you do do it, do it in addition to the bolts

spoilt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! dam dude i have to do hella sh-t just so my parent would drive me to the welding place its only like 3.3 miles way!!!(to get my 1 pieces welded)
