Also, if you had problems with your threadless then something was not installed right. There are plenty of people riding them who love them including myself. Some of what you said is true about bikes having more weight and momentum especially with a new sealed headset but really once you break in any headset and get everything tuned right you shouldn't notice any difference.
Plus threaded forks are bad for bars. The threads gouge out the inside of you bars which is why you always have to tight you clamps or use double, triple, quadruple clamps or whatever. Threadless forks stay tight forever with a single clamp because there is like 100 times more surface area grabbing.
I really don't like the idea of threadless forks which is why I'm probably not going to invest much time in making them better because I want to encourage people to go threadless because I really think it is the future.
