"what do i have to do to get sponsored?"

i must get asked this question like 500 times every week on myspace. this is for all you kiddies out there. first off, dont ride to get sponsored, cause that's pussy shitt. scooter sponsors can only do so much for you anyway. its not like skateboarding haha. secondly, i think scooter sponsorship is incredibly hard at the moment. razor has got like 30 kids on their team. micro sucks the D, and french id cant handle too many people. and if you realllllly are set on getting sponsored then you gotta bring something new to the table. i seriously dont watch more than half of the videos on this website because its the same shit over n over again. flip, briflip air, tuck no hand..sick life. im not saying you guys have to ride street. just being more unique in your riding, try to something that no one does, develop your own style. cause thats the only thing thats going to get you anywhere these days. take that jonas guy for example, he doesnt do big stuff or huge flashy tricks, he has own style and own tricks. in my eyes that is so much more enjoyable to watch than sooo many of the videos that come on here. so be creative, own style, smoke some jahh, do whatever. peacee

That is all so true.
Like today there was some little skateboarders asking me if i was sponsored. All they could do is talk about sponsorships. I told them that sponsorship dont mean shit. it seems like half of the skateboarders just get into it to be cool. and withs scooteing it is all for the sport. because you get made fun of if you try to be cool while riding a scooter.

One time I got sponsored then I decided to just ride my scooter haha fuuuuuuuuuuuuck now I "sponsor" people.

If you don't ride for fun and the love of the sport just forget it.

hahahhahaha that made my day, but dont forget the 46 year old male mustache.

and yes i agree with you matt. origionality now days is so much harder to come by because its so hard to think of new stuff. every kid just wants to be like the best riders out there. only a few develope a style of thier own

I try so hard to do new stuff, I rode street at first but then park got fun but now I'm bored of it so now I'm pretty much riding street exclusively. There are so many more options in the street, honestly, you can do so much more if you just look. The problem though, Matt, is that not many people are good enough to get innovative and do something new or unseen, at least I know I'm not. I do whips, spins, bris, grinds, and all that jazz, but it's ALL been done before... not much else I can do. Or most of us can do.

haha wow, i completely forgot that you were on razor at one point.

but i couldn't have said it better. and just like matt said, getting sponsored isn't going to do you much good, so just have fun with it.

I agree on jonas, i thought the same and that's cool because he's not rated or something. Same for Jeff Sturge

Anyways i love scooters so much except when i break my decks, forks and stuffs every 2weeks. it makes me sad then i don't want to ride anymore!!!

yea i try to only do tricks that no one else does
and when people start doing them i just quit doing them
example: john radtke lol
every time i lean something he says its gay then like 3 weeks later he masters it
who knows how long it will be til he starts doing front sliders lol

not only does john master it but he masters it in flips too.

and i wouldnt be suprised if john can already do front sliders really well but doesnt tell anyone. i have noticed that he keeps alot of stuff he does secret just so no one copies him

you guys are just jealous. sponsorships the shit! vip access everywhere I go. alcohol...sluts.... money. it's the life if you got the skills get sponsored! get rich! F-U-C-K riding for fun and for the sport! do it for the celeb status and money and the WOMEN!!! who is this matt mckeen fellow? who rides str33t? pssh i know i wouldn't dare lower myself to that level. anyone who decides to slide down a rail is a caveman. so uncivilized. anyone who DOESN'T bust out tucks and flips can just forget about life as a pro scooterer! there's my $400,000.37 in change.... -Eric Morgan Oliver Ostrom "TOS for 4 four LIFE"

totally, jonas is hella original, love his videos, and Jeff, you guys don't even know the level of riding Jeff's at, he does 150% his own shit, and has developed his OWN style, not someone else's, can't believe how underrated those two are..

Anyway...@eric, lol...screw money and fame...money only would do it :p no but really...only fun while riding keeps me doing it and spending a pretty high amount of money into it...without getting anything material out of it...

copy me back haha, feeding off other riders is just how you progress.

you and i both know fsfs are easier than peeing on babies, same with hang 5s after practice.

you dont see me doing f sliders or no foot can to whips/one foot inverts now do you?

pee on you.. love john.

if there was no differential for style and uniqueness, then there would be a tie for the top scooter rider in the world with like 40 riders. Tricks mean nothing, innovative, singular focussed riding is the future of this sport.

Matt... wudup naukum...
