What is Style?

Well, i usually talk about how people have sick style on a scooter but my friend pretty much disagrees. He says that you can't have style on a scooter cause you need your hands. He thinks that style is the way you push and the form that you put your hands in. My skater friend also said that BMXers and scooter riders cant have style because of that, and they only land tricks clean... He thinks style on a scooter or Bike is just about having tricks dialed and clean. So... What is style?

in my mind theres two types of style, your genre of riding, and how it looks when you ride. you might have a techy style of riding, but have no style when riding.

and yes, Stan would be the definition of amazing style when riding.

Funny how all you new school riders on Stans jock. When back when he first came out, most OGs hated his style. But yea, now he does have some sick style.

Style is the way you ride your scooter..that sets you apart from everyone else. Some riders got no style.. they are simply on a scooter...and are doing tricks. Some riders get sketchy style. Its jes the way they ride. And a lot of people can tell the difference between Euro riders style, East coast style, West Coast style, and Aussy style.

Oh and your friend.. yea hes an idiot.

Haha yeah i always argue with him.. And he keeps on saying its the way you push. I say "you can push on a scooter too.." then he says "well thats a scooter its different." hes pretty damn stubborn and stupid.

To me, there is no definition of style. Its just the way you look when you ride a scooter. If it looks good, i say they have good style. If (as steven used to say) it looks like they "dont belong on a scooter", than they have bad/no style. I dont think being clean has anything to do with style because you can have a stylin superman deckgrab, and than land it with your heels all on the ground. But yea, saying there is no style on a scooter OR BIKE, is COMPLETELY ridiculous.

And stan def. is not the def. of style, although i think he has alot of it. Still to this day Andrew Brabank has had the most appealing style ive ever seen. Some people come very close though.

Style = whether you are...

clean/sketchy (how well your height and bars match, how clean you land your tricks, consistancy)

Park/street (whether you ride park or street more often than the other... or equally if youre a good boy.)

Tech/Big (whether you can do or link 50,000 crazy tricks in a minuite or just one big hammer and kill it)

and who you are..

Attitude

How you act.

- are you a real asshole?
- are you a pussy?
- do you like to cut yourself?
- a cocky dick?
- funny?
- dipshit?

And your music also plays a big part in how people see your style too.

- Rap
- Rock
- Metal
- Alternative
- Indie
- Other shit.

even this is just a broad definition. style is who you are and ride.. pretty much.

i dont want to get to poetic but........
Style is the way you do your tricks. Like turndowns, on turndowns, everyone has their own style. The way your hands move, the way you pop the deck out, Straight legged or bowlegged.
So basically, its the way you do your tricks, your technique, your movement, your position
