X Games 14

Guys, I don't (and neither does most of the public) watch the X-Games to see the lookbacks and inverts and stylish riding you can see by logging onto youtube. I want to see new, progressive, mind-blowing tricks that have never been done before. The way I see it, video parts are for the styly, original tricks and runs, X-Games and other contests are for pulling your best tricks.

And personally, i kinda find guys like chase hawk and mike aitken a bit boring. doing the same 3 tricks over dirt jumps gets a bit repetitive, tbh. thus making seeing new tricks, like quad whips, more interesting for me to watch.

ok, then you can watch big air. its called park for a reason. x games was turning into a best trick contest, not a park contest. and have you noticed that the park is pretty much vert? someone like jamie bestwick is going to win, not chase hawk or mike aitken since they don't ride big transition like that.

quad whips are what belong on youtube, not a full run in a park.

I'm still agreeing with Sean. Jordan, do you consider progression just new tricks? I can see where your coming from if you see it as new tricks, but isn't progression doing stuff over bigger and better things? SO far we have seen like 2 tricks that we know will be attempted, the 720 double whip, and the quad whip. Landing these in the contest would be progression, but I think it's a new level of progression if they do it over some crazy gap while flowing a bowl. Doing tricks in a bowl or a flow run is a lot harder and more impressive then throwing it over a box jump. I guarantee you don't think a quad whip over a box jump is more impressive then a 360 triple over a gap that you couldn't even thing of.

yea but they won't be doing 360 tripples over gaps, they'll do a turndown over it.

wow great point nate and jordan
idk what the fuck you guys would want to watch people like aitken and chasehawk to tuck no's and tables and turndowns over a gap than a cork 7 or a flip whip
wtf x stands for extreme (meaning going big) any body can have a fucking contest of who can click the best turndown or invert
how many people are gonna cork 7 tuck no a box or quad whip or 720 whip??
i dont even consider tables and inverts tricks really
they are but it doesnt take balls to throw them

anyways ill be at the superpark event
ive been to every single x games in LA so far
ill see you there kenny

and btw who do you guys think will win??
i got my money on dhers
he only has like 10 tricks but everysingle one hes got on lockdown
but scotty or mike could win too if they put their shit together right
maybe morgan wade if he pocket airs the whole park again(i saw that from right under when he did it(most amazing gap ever)

360 backflip was done along time ago dude. i witnessed it several years ago. and yeah pastrana did it haha

dub post
what are you talking about he never 360 flipped
they did 360s that looked like backflips, underflips, and backflips
a 360 flip on a motocross bike = two full rotations
meaning if someone 360 flips it will look like a double backflip with a shifty(judging by what some of them call 360s)

i think you're all missing the point. no one is saying there won't be big tricks, just that its going to take more than access to a foam pit to win. look at guys like morgan wade that can still throw big tricks but they can also do a huge table over a 20 ft gap across the park. it's going to take something like that.

i say its going to be scotty or dave mirra. scotty has a lot more flow than dhers and mike spinner, since both of them are totally lacking in style, and dave can just tear apart any park he rides throwing down original stuff, so i've got faith in him.

uhh i honestly think mirra would only win if the judges are biased again, it seems like they are every year. hes still a sick rider though.

i think it will be dhers or spinner. but you never know, some wildcard like ryan guettler (double flip and 1080 both in a single run at a dew tour stop last year) or even like big daddy could surprise us.
