my 360 turns red when i turn it on. it wont play does anyone no why this happens. they power putton goes red

It's called the red rings of death or something like that, it occurs when your system overheats I believe.. Call up XBOX and see if you can get it repaired. Heres some info on it I hope it helps http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RROD#General_hardware_failure

Its free to fix, its a massive issue with xbox. Call up microsoft

my friend read about something with his xbox, and since he bought it used from a place there was no warranty. He had to wrap it in a towel for a certain amount of time (with it on) and make it really overheat, then it's worked ever since. He did this probably close to a year ago btw. Still works.

Just call microsoft and send it off, it happened to mine literally last week so I sent it off got it back within a week, totally fixed.

If you have a warranty with wherever you bought it from you can just straight trade for a new one, but otherwise do what everyone said and ring Microsoft.

the red rings of death came on when my friend fried his
