Thats the same exact camera I own Chris, its amazing.
Cheap, reallllyyyyy easy to use, and takes pictures that are just as good as a SLR if you use it right.
If you want an example of the quality of photos it can take, go look at my post in this week Photo Assignment. It was taken with that camera.

So overall, YES YES YES GET IT.

you're all fucking idiots except parker (possibly the first and last time i'll say that). at the introductory level, there is no difference between a canon and nikon, it's all personal preference, and if you say otherwise you're an elitist fuck that should be stabbed.

basically, go to best buy/circuit city, find a camera that you like and feels good to you, then go online and do some research about it, that's your best option.

all you're going to get here is people's skewed opinion's since they've only ever owned one model of camera and just assume that theirs is the best.

I find for an entry level, fujifilms are really nice.
And you can't call me biased, i have had a Fuji/Nikon/Canon..
But i started out with 2 different fuji p&s, they are good i'd say.

If you talk to the pro sports photographers, they say Nikon is just as good as Canon is. Nikon has better bodies and creative lighting system, but Canon has better lenses and button layouts on the bodies. Basically equal.
