Simple fix. But FD fucking sucks, If they didn't give me a new one I'd constanly ship boxes filled with the inside of porta pottys to their doorstep. And when they open the first one have it loaded to explode, thus making them poop themselves while covering them in poo. That's how I would handle that situation.

I live 30 mins away so if i dont get a new one im not going to settle easily.

dirtclod, shit happens, back before one piece decks were even out, we rode carefully knowing that landing in certain spots on the decks and just doing sketchy things in general were bad for our rides, now people think "One piece? should last me a decade" then when it breaks because they rode sketchy as fuck or threw there scooter, they throw a bitch fit.

You guys know you would be complaining too if that was your fork, Even if it is a defect they should of noticed the strip before shipping his fork out, and if they don't replace it he wasted $100 And that's his fault because he was supporting/buying from FD?

That's what he gets for not using a longer shim with his HIC. Like this:

That way the shim still clamps the bars, and the bars still clamp the shim, but there's no empty space for the slit to flex around on. There's at least an inch, maybe more of straight tubing going up into my bars. More compression power, more strength, and still just as light as standard HIC.

I cut the bottom off of some Razor Ultra Pro bars and made the slit a little bigger, then used it with my compression cap and a longer bolt. It's coming loose more now but that's just because my starnut is old and about to fall out and my compression bolt is a Razor axle with a cut off bolt stuck inside. If I had a new starnut and an actual bolt then my HIC would be rock-solid.
