Flexfenders get hot too...
It would probably melt the plastic as well.

Damn man!! That's hardcore, the downtube on those Phoenix HIC bars are is huge 1.5" diameter diameter tubing... cant believe you snapped them.

This, is why i only run SCS now... HIC is weak sauce. (imo)
