Is there even andvantage of the front being boxed when doing smith and 5050s. And how does it feel like is it too long for the width of it. Im in a delima get a hammer head or get another hepgreg deck.
i mean i guess it would help you,i never had a problem with 5050's or overcrooks when i had my thresh,so i dont really know if it helps. it just takes awhile to get used to looking down at your deck and seeing a big boxed front end.
I personally didnt even really want a hammerhead i used to think they were to big,i wanted a 21' thresh but they were sold out and i wanted a longer deck so i just got the hammerhead and im glad i did 4.5 x 21.5 feels sooo good.

Did you notice much of a difference between the Hammerhead and a regular Thresh with grinds and stuff?
I was waiting on Hunter's response since this question was sent directly towards him and then add.

Personally I've used Hammerheads from the beginning before they were even named Hammerheads, but I do have tried a few regular Thresh decks here and there. I haven't been really into smith grinds (on the other hand i wasn't doing them consistently before threshold/hammerhead decks were released), but FS noseblunts turned into a whole new game compared to the regular Thresholds (or compared to any other deck on the market for that matter) - both Harley Harin and I have experienced that they lock in way easier and are more stable than on regular thresh decks. I hope that helps.

yes. i forgot about that. the main advantage is they lock into noseblunts like no other deck.

oh, actually, there's one more thing: Harley was really into footjams at some point so having that wide nose provided some footspace on the corner of the deck which helped to lock into footjams with his zero offset thomcat fork.

Aight thanks, I was mainly asking because some of my favorite tricks are smiths and FS 50-50s so I was wondering if the extra little bit of material at the front would help keep them locked mainly when I do those tricks on rails

Same that's also why I'm considering getting it but why bother if it isn't even better then a regular thresh.

I mean it will help because the larger deck space you have on the rail during 5050s, the harder it'll be to slip out. So the hammerhead will make it easier because there's more deck on the rail due to the square front, but will it be a large change from a regular tresh? probably not.
