On second thought those bars are pretty scary. I thought the split was two skinnier tubes welded together really well, but it looks as if they cut the tube down the middle and stretched it. I don't think that's really a stress point, but it's still kinda scary.

I thought the same thing when I saw pictures and even heard about the idea. But you ansrewed the question as to if they are strong.....it really isn't a stress point. I've been riding these for only a few days, and I don't see anything bad happening to them.
