I modded the front a bit, normally it's a square but I chopped it so they taper up to the neck.

I did, the wheel was barely touching. My wheels were fairly new and actually 110 mm when I put em on, so maybe your friends were worn down a bit? Idk, now it works perfectly without a crazy amount of modding.
