no, they work a whole lot better because they work with pressure, so when your landing there is more pressure, so you stick better (as opposed to grip tape where with enough pressure you can slip) and when you go up for a trick its perfect for throwing stuff and not getting caught up.

It's a Travis house sig deck painted black that I got from a friend, and yes he's stupid for painting it. Btw the deck has a big ass crack on the bottom so I'm riding my addict right now. Probably the most comfy setup ever.
