i looked him up.. he was just a dude with with a decent build? the guy talked in third person sometimes apparently, he cared so much about being built but only to look good, and he seams like he was pretty into himself. he also did steriods along with his brother and trainer, which is probably why he died due to cardiac arrest.

so he was a body builder who found himself sexy, made thousands of people care about how built they are, and died most likely because of his steriod use and extremely stupid body building lifestyle....

i don't understand how he can be an icon.... please explain.

Australian here, this guy is NOT an Aussie icon. We make fun of this guy in our country, for the utter fag that he was. He was a vain, guido, body builder with a mullet who was famous for about 15 seconds for having totally chiseled abs and being dead. Nothing to be proud of, nothing of substance.
