Raptor Grips & Hardware

This is the topic for all information and news involving Raptor. Nowadays, in a sport that is growing rapidly, there are very few companies who focus on grips and hardware. At Raptor, it is our objective to change that. We provide products that are designed and tested by some of the worlds best riders. We believe that you should never have to venture outside of the scooter industry for components. Now onto the good stuff, here are some of our products...

Raptor Scales:

Available in all colors shown above, the Scales are soft and comfy. They come flangeless. And the best part about the Scales are that they are 1.5mm thicker than the average grip. Which helps provide shock absorption for those high impact landings and less wear on the grip.

Raptor Claws:

Available in all colors shown above, the Claws are a lower profile grip for the rider who doesn't like a thicker grip. They come with flanges and have a riser built into the grip. This allows the grip to form to your palm.

Every pair of grips come with durable high impact plastic bar ends that include a 4mm hex allen key bolt to fit snug into your bars. We chose to make these bar ends for a very simple reason, they last as well as look clean. No more dealing with plugs being stuck in your bars because the cap snapped off! These also allow for easy removal and installation.

We are always testing new designs to cater to all rider preferences. So be on the lookout for new products in the near future.

So you felt it necessary to add "hardware" into your company name because you include some crappy plastic barends just like EVERY OTHER GRIP COMPANY THAT EXISTS? Maybe if you start making pegs or good metal barends you can warrant the name "hardware" but right now I don't see it to be at all necessary.

No need to get hostile on this thread. We have good quality bar ends. They are not just your typical plastic plugs. They have a 4mm hex allen key head and actually spead into the bar, rather than just being a plastic plug. We also use a harder component so that they can take a beating without breaking. As for pegs, no need to touch that market. There are several companies making pegs, so it's not really a rare product in this industry.

But it's okay. We can agree to disagree.

I'm not trying to get hostile, I'm just saying you're giving yourself a name that is over-exaggerating your product line a little bit. And plastic wedge barends aren't that uncommon. I've bought plenty of grips that come with them.

It's not exaggerating considering it is hardware. Besides, the grips are the main focus. Once again, agree to disagree. No need to spam.

Yeah, the Odyssey bar ends are practically the same design. We didn't want to just make plugs. We are all familiar with the problems plugs have. Bust the cap off and it's stuck in your bar. Very annoying to deal with. Our bar ends won't do this.

Those first ones seem like they would get slippery really quick. Can someone prove me wrong? Because they look super comfortable and I might get a pair.

i personally dont like either of the grips you guys make, sorry. i think you should add a thinner, longer grip to your product line. the barends are on point though, ive been riding a pair for a little while. they're just like odyssey par ends; perfect.

I've been riding a pair of the Scales for a handful of months now and I was an ODI Soft Longneck kind of guy. I tried the Scales, and they're extremely grippy. They're soft like Animal Edwins, but don't wear out. The only issue I had, was it took me a few days to get used to the thickness of them. But honestly, I prefer these over ODI now. They only took a couple sessions to break in and they get better by the day. It's one of the reasons I left ODI for Raptor. Number 1, them being an actual Scooter Company, not a BMX company taking sales from the companies who put their money back into our sport. They also out perform the Longnecks in my opinion. This coming from over ten years of BMX and scooter experience with ODI brand.

We have a little something in the works that I think you would be stoked on.

ODI s are still the best and their soft compound ones are legit. these hate to say it look like garbage
Little known fact. ODI Soft compounds only came to us because of myself and Scooter Zone. ODI Flaked on my signature grip, so they offered Scooter Zone an "exclusive soft compound grip" that used the compound that I wanted for my grip. And I know what you mean, I didn't think much of the grips either until I tried them.
