Your roller hockey skates probably had a 688 micro hub which takes smaller bearings. Generally rollerblades and hockey skates take the same bearings as anything else. I'd still not trust this guy though, seems really sketchy.

You're hands are probably just not use to the impact from catching a barspin yet. When I first learned barspins on bars that weren't stock, they use to hurt my hands when I caught them. Your body should adjust.
