standard clamps work with standard bars, and oversized clamps work with all bars, but you have to use a shim when using an oversized clamp on standard bars. im pretty sure both products you are talking about are standard, so yes, it should work.

trying to fix the fork yourself would be stupid af imo. You payed a certain amount of money for a brand new fork, so you should get a fork without any manufacturing defects. inward or proto should send a completely free replacement.
