Unless you have welding connections then get wee's, because its like an extra 10 dollars and you get powdercoating and gussets

its like 50 for the metal and like 40 for the welding because 4130 requires heating before welding which is apparently a pain.

MIG welding with wire feeds and gas cylinders doesn't require heating the 4130. I've had my bars for probably 3 months and they're still perfectly fine. I'm testing other pairs with some harder riding friends, but it honestly doesn't cost much to get everything done, contrary to belief. I can understand why MIG welding with wire feed and gas is probably more expensive, but powdercoating isn't totally necessary; raw 4130 has a nice color to it anyway.

But in general, my experiences for bars:

2 ft. of steertube AND column = $30 (I live near the warehouse for Online Metals, but I'd estimate around $40 for shipping it)

I got the welding done for free....but for a MIG welder to rent, I got a price at $35 a day. Naturally, you'd have to learn how to weld, but going to a machine/auto shop somewhere, chances are they'll have a MIG welder, so ask if they have gas and wire feed...and pay them for their services, like $10-20 for 15 minutes of work.

So like $55 to make bars? That's my experiences at least.
