let me clear some things up... the tubing isn't thicker, it's the same thickness as other HIC bars. it's a larger diameter because they have an oversized aluminum HIC shim. the integrated clamp won't strip, it's made of chromoly. the only bad part is you can't cut them down.

wait...so you're saying the downtube is bigger overall...but that's not true. the inside diameter is still the same HIC. the metal is thicker though, so the outside diameter is bigger than normal, and can't fit a normal oversized clamp, which is why there's an integrated. I just reread the thing inward says, and that's what I'm getting from it.

trust me dude, the metal isn't thicker it's the same, 1/16th thick. quote off of inward scooters: "PLEASE NOTE that this bar has a 1 3/8 inch inside diameter and 1.5 inch outside diameter."

that means that the oversized aluminum shim is 1/8th thick, it's the same thickness as aluminum bars. so the phoenix bars need to go over it.

theyre still a lot heavier though because the bigger the tubing the more material it takes.

edit: just to show you, click on the 3rd picture to see the thickness of the downtube: http://shop.inward-scooters.com/product.sc?productId=691&categoryId=81 and look at torn scooters handlebars downtube: http://www.skyhighscoot.com/Torn_Bars__21x18_/p84553_3490320.aspx also click on the third picture. that's the difference in thickness, the torn bars are twice as thick of a downtube

Those are a really good idea, but I think that there are going to be alot of problems with kids wanting to cut bars down or stripping the integrated clamp.
