When did you get yours Zach? I think they have changed something on them because I compared both my pairs of Vertx bars (The first of which were bent and rusted) and the new pair were lighter, yet I have done no damage to them yet, and they seem to have a clear coat.

Yeah, im not blaming vertX or anything, but the welds on the under part of my bar are not even like welds, they seemed sorta effortless and ridiculously tiny. Plus they came with like a dark brown color over them? But I loved the bars.

i got mine, and they have yellow paint, rust, and the welds looked tiny, didnt look like it had clearcoat so i went to home depot and got some and am currently painting it. we'll see how this thing holds up, slit is great though

My slit was fucking M I N T. The only thing good about my vertX bars, was the slit.

mine had a shitty ass slit so bad they wouldent fit on my bars without a hammer, this was the second pair of bars they sent me so i dident want to compain, everything else was prime though

Yeah I just got mine today, they're like gunmetal grey and have clearcoat on them I think, I'm not sure. It looks like it but there's some rust I think.

Slit is amazing though.

The problem you had isn't the slit, we had a batch of tubing come through that ran on the large side of the thickness tolerance which made the inside of the tubing a hair small. Unfortunately we did not catch it until some bars had shipped. Email us if it continues to be a problem. The good news is that your down tube is a little stronger than most since it is a hair thicker.

Good morrow fellow scooter riders, I seem to have encountered a problem with my VertX handlebars. I am positive they sent me bars in the correct downtube dimensions, being 1 3/8 inches, commonly referred to as "oversized" in the scootering world. However, I found it quite difficult to install the bars over my HIC shim. Many hours were spent, blood spilled, and lives lost, but I finally prevailed and had my bars securely in place. Another inconvenience arose whilst removing the aforementioned bars, though. It would seem that my HIC shim had cleverly unscrewed itself in the process, and it is now lodged firmly inside of my bars.
