a camera everyone should consider

It's called a Sanyo FH1. The quality is way better than some $400+ cameras. It's $280 new off amazon, but I got mine for $200 shipped, refurbished on ebay, and it's perfect. It is flash memory though, so you will need to buy a memory card...

Here's a raw clip uploaded to youtube

and here's a video I made a little while ago in Sony Vegas

be sure to click 720p. The camera does take in 1080, but I just do 720 so the file isn't too big. And of course the quality is way better before you upload to youtube, and it still looks great even full screen on my computer.

so yeah, definitely consider this if you're looking for a new camera.

I'd give it 5/5, I've had no problems with it at all and have taken lots of videos.

I'm just using a Kenko fisheye by the way which costs like $30 or $40. and yes, it can screw on to the camera. I just bought this too

which is nice to have.

that sucks man. you could had just bought a firwire board for your computer for 10 bucks.

i googled firewire cards, i took my laptop to best buy, the cheapest i could do (according to them) was $45 which i didn't have. i'm good with what i have, i just wish it didn't give me SO much trouble haha.

you just made my point, if you had an hv20 or some other HD mini dv cam you wouldn't need to buy some special tape. Not to mention that you would have that tape forever, you could just delete the uncompressed footage from your computer and not worry about it taking up space. With SD cards, you have to delete whatever is on there to make room for more footage. Now unless you keep it all on your computer, or keep buying a bunch of hardrives your eventually going to delete that footage.

I have a firewire cord, just not the card. and there's nowhere for it to go into on my laptop because it's so small, awesome.

i beg to differ about all of your words...SD is not bad and most of the time is uncompressed, just like dv. It is also solid state, meaning that nothing can break in it. also sd cards are reuseable and will cost much less than the same recording time, in tapes. im not saying that dv is bad, but im saying that sd is just as good. also the sanyo is a very good camera. it shoots full hd and 60p.
