Why will the threadless fork and compresion system not work with an old a model

BUFFs should fit a stock fork, yes. What kind of headset do you mean? If you mean threadless, like FSA headsets, then yes, if they are 1 1/4". RAD bars consist of 2 bars welded together to make one piece. BUFFs involve a top clamp that holds the steertube and crossbar. This clamp allows you to change height/width easily. You cannot do that with RADs. Anyways, you can't get RADs anymore, so just get BUFFs.

It should be 1 1/8th not 1 1/4th. But everything esle is right. And if you have access to a welder or know someone who does, your better off making your own RAD-like 1 peice bars if you know what hight/width you want.

Use some elbow grease ;-) jk, just dip the foam grips in water and pull them off, i recommend getting BMX grips tho

or if youre amazing like me just yank them off . some info:
1. If you can afford BUFFs they are the best bars ever.
2. You can run an SR fork on an old A if you file down the little things that hold on the wheels but its not recommended.
3. To run a threadless fork you need to put a threadless headset on your scooter. headset = thing that makes your bars spin
4. Threaded fork is almost as good if you reinforce it.
5. The SR fork does weigh a tiny bit more than a non-SR fork, but it will never ever ever break ever.

Stock Razor clamps won't fit on Buff bars, Buffs come with a clamp.

2. take a frickin' grinder to it, that's what i have to do now
3. it must be 1 1/8", or BMX size. you CAN NOT use a stock headset
4. threaded forks do not give you the flexability to change the tightness of your headset with ease.
5. lots of people have broken threaded forks, and Madis broke a SR V-1 fork...
