Do you need brake mounts on your frame to run brakes? or could you like tie the cable to the frame with zip ties or twine or somethin? i know NOTHING about bikes haha.
soooo basically if i dont have brake mounts i gotta ride brakeless? fuuuuuuuuck.
Because Danscomp is selling Subrosa Pandora frames in black with no brake mounts for 200 bucks instead of the usual 300, but i pretty much gotta run brakes because I use my bike to get from place to place and WA has hellllaaa hills. So id be hauling balls into traffic without brakes
Austin, you can drill and put a brake plate on it, but brakeless isn't as hard as you think. I stop just as easy now, and I'm a lot more aware of things going on because of it.
i know but i dont wanna burn through shoes hella fast. and i literally live on top of a bigass hill, and all my street spots are at the bottom lol. its gay. idk ill think about it. and ill look into the whole brake plate thing. thanks guys.
Im sure my freind who rides this verde which is brakeless can ride brakes since he has a little hole near where the brake is on the back end. So he basicly like bolts the brake to the frame through this hole instead of the brake mount holes.
on teh dropouts on the bar between yu can drill a hole for a bolt and get brakes (yes they do work well), they're a diffo type of brake where mounts arent required and yeah. go ask local bike shop for info
