and the moral of the story is: don't use Inward bars on SR v2 forks

I was riding around flat, doing 360s, pivots to fakie, barspins, etc

All of a sudden I notice my bars folding forward, so I look down and I see this:

Upon closer inspection, I notice that the slits on the inward bars were, for some reason, longer than the actual fork tube, thus creating an obvious weak point.

Now I'm out 60 dollars because of flawed bar design.

Holy crap. I would email Inward, tell them what happened, put a note on their website, and ask for a new pair of bars.

"They are more than 6 months old. What I can offer is a new raw pair at half price ($25), provided you pay for shipping ($14) and powdercoat ($15) if that is what you want. The new ones are made from 4130 chromoly so they are a bit stronger. If you want, I can make the slit shorte for you. Let me know how long.

Let me know.

Ugh. I probably would have broken them within the 6 month time frame if I hadn't bought the French ID's I've been using for the last 4 months.

Or get an SCS.
haha?

Actually, this is pretty smart. Since the slit couldn't have been much more than 2 inches, it won't adjust the hight a noticable amount; Just cut the bars so the break is more even and buy an SCS.... Or get the new inwards/other bars.
Either way, you have the 54$ replacement bars, or an SCS ~70?
