Yes, im not going to say Dakota is slowing our sport down.. But his Father most definately is. The other day i went to my local, to my suprise i found 6 young new riders to the sport enjoying themselves having fun. Got to talking with them. I asked them about SR and was disappointed to hear, "Whats Scooterresource? I typed in scooter in youtube and google and get all this stuff from a kid named Kota. Do you know him? I bought bars from his website. And all my friends bought the bike handlebar ones." I simply told them that i am not very fond of Kota or his father in particular and that they arent really seeing the side of scootering that people in the SR community are. I finally got out of one of the older kids that Dakota's site, riding, promotion, and parts are embarassing from his point of view. I took a look at the bars he bought and they had hideous welds and etc. He said he found a few videos of other riders, Erik, Mckeen, Steadman, Josh Toy, and Monky and they all told me that they made riding look the most enjoyable. Like it was actually a sport like BMX or Skateboarding, instead of some joke ass bullshit promoted all over by some kids dad. Also, their is a pretty large skateshop around here called Elite. I know a guy that works their. Has a great passion for skating, shows respect to everyone, always willing to have a nice friendly conversation will anyone and I talk to him alot. He always is VERY i mean VERY intrested in Scooter parts and the community. He always asks about what new parts are coming out, what tricks people are doing these days and stuff of that sort. He asks frequently if i need grip tape or bearings or anything to just let him know. Him being a total outsider from the sport came over to me the other day and said that he saw some fresh clips from the riders we enjoy to watch ; for instance Stan, Mckeen, Nick Darger, Jon reyes, everyone out there that makes enjoyable videos that people can all enjoy watching and learning from or if not learning at least liking someone elses riding. He told me he saw a kid a few days ago on the web named Kota and it was embarassing to him about how much of a joke he made Scootering seem like. He said that he was really impressed with parts being made from companies like Proto, Inward, TSI, SkyHigh, French ID and etc. And he was more than impressed with their riders. And he told me that from an outsiders point of view, Kota's parts and videos and riding are an embarassment to the Sport of Scootering.
Ive been thinking about this for a long time and i figured now would be a good time to put it out their. I dont mean to bash him or anything, but i just think it needs to be pointed out that people that arent even in the sport, are easily getting the wrong idea from his shitty videos, products and promoting.
Some of that may have been repeated alot or whatever. But whatever. Ya'll get what i mean.

We need to boycott that website, contact his dad or the creator of that wesite and bring it down! Max's personal experiences with outside riders stories has made it clear that this "website" is hurting the scene more than we can afford!

But this isn't right.This website is putting out an image that scootering doesn't need. We have been trying to steer away from the "childish" image and we're almost there. I accidently clicked on the link to Kotascooter.com while watching one of his video's on youtube. The intro video came on when I entered the site and I laughed. You seriously need to reconsider the way you are MARKETING dakota and "his?" products..... you are ruining everything that real riders have worked years for to achieve.
